Bandtail Scorpionfish

Description:

Also known as the Yellowtail Scorpionfish, this species can be highly variable in colour. Scorpionfish are ambush predators - camouflaged from their prey, they lie in waiting until prey comings within reach, then lunge forward, mouth gaping and 'inhale' them!

Habitat:

Muddy/Sandy bottom at dive site 'The Hill' in Puerto Galera.
