~(Updated: May 27/17)~ Just yesterday little ducklings hatched on the campus grounds, i was lucky enough to take a photo of them and their mom. Unfortunately the mother didn't want her babies to be models so early in their lives and started to walk away. At least I wasn't like my friend who chased them and tried to pick up a baby. They now have a bruise on their ankle from a furious pecking. ( yes this is the same friend from the seagull post) ----------- ~(Updated: May 25/17)~ Thank you to Musicwolf for your suggestion ----------- There are quite a few of ducks like this one around the grounds of the college , along with some geese. But only a few that I've see had this read growth, I just wanted to know if it was a diffrent species of duck, or if it was a growth defect:
The red growth is entirely normal - much bigger on the males ;). I grew up in Florida and know them well, but in my experience, the Muscovys are the most likely to be mean ducks.
I don't know it's type, but there were so many in Florida. Very friendly ducks. Non-aggressive. What a cutie!
