Forewing with part of the white streak in the eyespot. The uppermost of two hindwing spots is larger an has a magenta splash.

Habitat:

Fields, meadows.

Notes:

This was one of several that fed all day on the variegated Privet, Ligustrum.

We saw several common buckeyes nectaring on blackberry flowers in a field along the Ouachita River in north Louisiana today. Nice picture.
