Tessaratoma Papillosa
About three quarters to a full inch in length, a little over an inch in width. I observe 6 yellowish orange legs and 2 antennae. Very bright red, as you can see. It did not fly the 5-10 minutes we observed it. Just crawled its way from leaf to leaf.
Found 2 of these in a berry plantation in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Thanks, everyone for the info :) I love it! My boyfriend screamed like a little girl when he saw it crawling up his leg!
who knew a stink bug could start out with such lovely colors. Great spotting and photo series.
I think this is a nymph of Tessaratoma papillosa, a stinkbug of the Tessaratomidae family.
