Jumping Spider

Cosmophasis micans

Description:

Like looking for a needle in a haystack its very hard to ID jumping spiders. ( Cosmophasis micans) - my father suggested this ID, he recalled that he once used this as reference model in painting a cyborg character for an animation project. Indeed it looks like a knight in shining armor. Found it right outside our kitchen.

Habitat:

Gardens and secondary forests.

What a stunning looking spider! I agree, these guys can be a challenge to identify & salticidae is a huge family!
