Primrose & sand verbena

There was an abundance of white raggedy-looking flowers covering the ground in a hollow under mesquite trees along the Rillito River (dry). On closer look, some little purple flowers were scattered among them. I assume the white ones are primroses, and the purple ones are verbena, but can't identify the particular species.
