Thank you so much! It grows very thick and healthy in their garden and every year its in the same spot so I thought perhaps it was zone 3 (north-western) Minnesota hearty...I know the owner also plants Calla Lilies which aren't (zone 3) hearty so perhaps he just keeps replacing them or perhaps he digs them up and keeps them someplace dry and warm for the winter.

Mandevilla flower, it is out of it's safety zone as it is tropical or semi-tropical.

I think you have a different name for it in America, but we call it mandevilla where I live. At least it looks very much like the same plant! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandevilla - hope that helps a little. :)
