Description:

Adult, male Ring-necked Pheasant during breeding/mating season

Habitat:

Breeding: grasslands, grassy ditches, hay fields and grassy or weedy fields, fencelines, crop margins and woodlot margins. Nonbreeding: grain and corn fields in fall; woodlots, cattail marshes and shrubby areas close to croplands in winter.
