It does look quite similar, Scott--the petals are more pointed as well. I've follow your lead but have still come up empty on the ID. Thanks.

Looks like a member of the Campanulaceae, possibly Small Venus' Looking-glass, Triodanis biflora. http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/im.... http://florida.plantatlas.usf.edu/Plant..... The leaves in your photos look different, though.
