Doves-Foot Cranesbill

Geranium molle

Description:

The cranesbill plants are also commonly known by their genus, Geranium. The doves-foot flowers from April through to September, with flowers ranging from pink to purple. The leaves are hairy and lobed. This is a common "weed" plant as it grows well in lawns. This was the only flower I could find, so I imagine the plant has only just begun blossoming.

Habitat:

Prefers dry soils, I found this in a wooded area.

Notes:

Found just outside the University of Essex grounds, on the start of the Wivenhoe Trail.
