Description:

About 24 - 24 inches long, dark brown with subtle black patches, pale yellow underside, thick body, upturned snout.

Habitat:

Overgrown grassy garden bed in open area, East Texas Piney Woods region.

Notes:

We saw these two for three days in a row. One went underground within a few minutes of seeing us; the other stayed out for hours as we passed by working in the garden.
