Description:

Burnsius oileus (formerly Pyrgus oileus) is a small skipper butterfly with distinctive features. The wingspan is 32–38 mm. Note how the checkered margins of the forewings are not consistent. Females are darker than males.

Habitat:

Spotted along a trail in a wooded area at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas.
