Snowberry clearwing moth

Hemaris diffinis

Description:

Clearwing moths are one of my favorite things to spot in a garden or meadow. This one was dancing around another whose markings were more striped and bee-like. I'd love to know what this plant is--I've never seen it anywhere else!

Habitat:

Flowerbeds near a river.

Dana, that was a great suggestion--maybe Salvia 'Madeline' from the looks of it? Thanks for setting me on the right track!
