Delias hyparete luzonensis
Pieridae; Pierinae; Delias hyparete luzonensis C. & R. Felder 1862. I am not skilled in describing butterflies. So I always hope that the photos give sufficient information. But Philepidoptera always give useful information: "(The Pierinae is a) group of butterflies in the family Pieridae (order Lepidoptera) that are named for their white wings with black marginal markings. The adult butterflies have a wingspan of 37 to 63 mm (1.5 to 2.5 inches). Sexual seasonal dimorphism in pattern and colour occur in many species." https://philippinelepidopt.wixsite.com/b......
This Painted Jezebel was spotted in our front yard visiting Periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus) in a flowerpot. He seemed to enjoy it so much, the heavy rain shower did not distract him.
