Oxalis debilis Kunth

Description:

Flowers pink, purplish or blue, greenish in the throat. It is a perennial plant and herb in the Oxalidaceae family. Its original distribution is South America but has become a very cosmopolitan species, occurring in all continents except Antarctica. It can be found in both temperate and tropical areas.

Habitat:

Our garden in the shade. Windwardside Saba, at the foot of the volcano Mount Scenery. Saba is in the Caribbean Sea.

Notes:

Bulbous geophytes. Plants whose perennial organ is a bulb from which, every year, flowers and leaves are born. The flowers, leaves and roots are edible. The leaves have what is considered a zesty lemony flavor.
