Spider feeding on Oriental Psyche Butterfly

Leptosia nina (Butterfly)

Description:

I had always wanted to photograph this butterfly with its wings open so that I could catch the attractive spots ...so when I saw one sitting motionless in his pose I shot a few photos happily and wandered away. Then after a while it struck me as odd that the butterfly which is a restless one had not flown away. When I took a second look I discovered spidey having lunch! I stayed there for at least 15 minutes and spidey was still not done.

Habitat:

On a Vernia cinerea herb; office campus.

Notes:

I'd be happy if someone could ID the spider for me, please. Also see: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/128...

Thanks, Jae. I was saddened by the butterfly's death but the the spider needs to eat (actually drink) too.
