Setora nitens
In the Mountainous area of Corella, Bohol. Relatively high temperature and higher altitude.
We've found this caterpillar during our sampling inside the Tarsier Sanctuary of Corella, Bohol, Philippines. Found under a leaf of a certain tree when we climbed the mountain.
Or color variation!? You never know with these caties... During their different instars they might change all features like body form/shape, hairs/knobs, stings and colors in a way you might think it is another species. I am still not 100% sure about my ID (that's the reason why it is called "suggestion" ;-)...).
Hi Bayucca! Yes thank you! it really looks like a nettle caterpillar, Satora nitens. But the color is suspicious. it must be another variety of this species or another species..
I found a more reddish Setora nitens. But I IDed this one myself, so you need a confirmation anyway ;-)...
Welcome to Project Noah!
Looks similar to Setora nitens, beside the color! Setora nitens is usually more greenish/yellowish. So I am not sure if this is really Setora!
