With only two species in the genus, M. cora is the one that occurs in Papua. "Macrodiplax cora is a widespread migrant which is tolerant to disturbance and capable of rapidly colonizing new habitats." http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/16747...
Spotted on a spider orchid (Arachnis sp.) in a large semi-urban yard & garden near a disturbed patch of remnant forest. It is not a particularly wet area.
She looked worn and was probably on her last legs, and she allowed me to approach very closely.
