Gold Dust Day Gecko

Phelsuma laticauda

Description:

The gold dusk day gecko is diurnal and is usually a light green color speckled with yellow. It has red spots near its tail. Notice how the tail seems different from the rest of its body. Cool, right? I guess that this is because the tail comes off... The gecko also has stripes on its snout and part of the skin surrounding its eye is a sky blue color.

Habitat:

If you live in Hawaii you may find this gecko in your house or perched on a wall. It is also found in northern Madagascar, Comoros, and was introduced to Hawai’i and many Pacific islands.
