Caloptilia stigmatella
A small moth (one of the so-called micro-moths) in the family Gracillariidae (Leaf Blotch Miner Moths). Its larvae feed on the internal parts of leaves by burrowing ("mining") in them. The preferred larval host plants are Salix (willow) and Populus (aspen, cottonwood).
Local habitat consists of mixed forests of aspen, birch, spruce, fir, pine, maple, and oak. There are also extensive conifer-hardwood and willow shrub carr wetlands.
Attracted to an incandescent porch light.
