This is a small (a bit over 20cm in length), short-billed and stocky wader, pictured here in its non-breeding attire: dark brown above, with bright-white belly and conspicuous short and orange legs.

Habitat:

Seen foraging in urban setting in coastal Morocco, on a small sandy creek of town Essaouira, mingling with a huge flock of lesser black-backed Gulls.
