Horned Lizard

Description:

I've determined that this is a horned lizard, but I'm not sure if it is a desert horned lizard or a short horned lizard. He is larger than 2-3 inches, but doesn't have the banded pattern on his back like I see in pictures of desert horned lizards. His body was a little smaller than the palm of my hand. He froze in fear and didn't move even when I came closer to take pictures. He blended in very well with the dirt and rocks he was sitting on.

Habitat:

Deserty farmland near a stream. Elevation around 3,500 feet.
