Luna Moth

Actias luna

Description:

Approximately 4 inches in length. Relaxed wingspan appears to be 3 inches from tip to tip. Vibrant coloring. Thick bushy antenna.

Habitat:

Warm, temperate climate. Usually found outside homes near exterior lighting.

Notes:

First one I've seen this year. I'm assuming it to be young, due to its vibrant coloring. Cannot determine its sex.
