pill millepede

Description:

about 1.5" long, beige with black markings

Habitat:

tropical forest on limestone

Notes:

I had taken a trail though the forest in Ba Be Lakes National Park. I decided to take the road back to the campsite. I stopped to have a look out at the lake and when I looked down I saw this little guy. He was walking along fine but when he got wind that I was there, he went into a ball. I patiently waited about 10 minutes for him to open up to get some more photos.

I grew up seeing tons of black ones like these but none with such interesting patterns and pale markings - nice !
