Ash-throated Flycatcher

Myiarchus cinerascens

Description:

Medium-large crested flycatcher with rufous flashes in the wings and long tail, gray-brown upperparts, pale gray chest and pale yellow belly.

Notes:

Spotted in the backyard. Interesting bird to watch; as it would perch, cock it head looking for its next meal in the grass below, then fly and return to the post to finish its meal. The fourth picture shows it with a green caterpillar. :)

Thanks. Hopefully you'll spot them soon as they tend to arrive in late March and April. :)
