Sea Hare? (Slug)

Description:

Black in color, thin floppy skin like body. Seemed "lifeless" but it slowly moved on surface of the water. It looked like a squid/jellyfish mix. Inked purple when we lifted it out of the water. It had two ear looking nobs on the top of its body.

Habitat:

Atlantic Ocean, a couple miles off Key West. We saw it in between two tiny islands. It was "swimming" on the surface of the water. It inked purple when we lifted it out of the water for a couple of seconds.

What an interesting looking creature! It looks like you have indeed found a Sea Hare. I am not familiar with these guys but I think they are really neat! I moved this to the Others category for you since Sea Slugs are not fish.
I hope you are able to get an ID!
