Indian meal moth

Description:

A 10mm long metallic shiny moth. Colours include brass, copper, bronze, manganese, steel. Long fine antennae held backwards. Protruding elongated mouth parts.

Habitat:

At night resting on metallic kitchen wall clock. Worldwide!?

Notes:

As is often the case the beauty of this little moth became obvious only when examining the photos. The only known living species of the genus Plodia. Alternative common names are North American High-flyer and Pantry Moth. ........ maybe we better check our pantry.
