Tachycineta thalassina
The male has a vivid green cap, back, and partial wings as well as hints of purple on the nape, rump, and upper tail. I was fortunate to catch this one resting before taking off again on its relentless search for flying insects.
Spotted in a wetland at Flaming Geyser State Park.

Nice shot. Love them!
Thanks for the kind words Sukanya, Neil, and Zlatan
Same here, never saw one before - glad you shared this, Brian, gorgeous spotting. Great shots, by the way
Beautiful spotting, Brian. First time for me also to see this species.
First time I am seeing one; lucky you to get to see in real. Such a delicate-looking bird. Lovely colour palette used by Mom-Nature.
Thank you Sukanya. We get to enjoy them here in the PNW in the spring and summer during their breeding season. Even then they aren't very common.
So pretty.
