Antigonon leptopus
The new buds look so beautiful. In fact initially I was unable to guess it, then guessed it wrong as Bougainvillea and then came to know it is Colar Vine !
Thank you auntance123 and S. Frazer. Yes now even I believe it to be coral vine,
Antigonon leptopus (confirmed it after having better look at the leaves of this one). I still remember the spot where I had clicked this so may be I can look at this once again.
Well it certainly looks different that the "paper flower" that I'm used too. Like those displayed at the bottom of this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bougainvill... It looks almost fleshy and there are no veins visible on the "bracts". The real test would be to see inside the bracts (if that is what we are seeing), where the real Bougainvillea flower resides -- a small trio of thin tubular (white) flowers. It would be great to have a species or variety name to go with genus name Bougainvillea for this spotting. :-)
Hello S. Frazier,
As far as i know this is Bougainvillea only .......... i don't have any reliable source to confirm it though.
This looks quite different in structure to Bougainvillea. This looks more herbaceous and climbing.
