Wild turkey

Meleagris gallopavo

Habitat:

Wooded rural community with fir, cedar, oak, maple, poisen oak & blackberries, among many other types of vegetation. They appear to live up the hill from my house & visit the yard frequently to eat daisey & dandelion heads. They roost in trees near the house & I often hear them "talking" as they wake up at dawn & leave the trees.

You have some good shots of them displaying colors and tail feathers - Well done!

Thank you! I'm hoping they'll bring their babies out this year. They have a few times over the 9 or 10 years we've been seeing them, but haven't for a couple of years, at least until they're half grown.
