Carolina mantis (nymph)

Stagmomantis carolina

Notes:

Just a couple of hours old & this tiny mantis nymph surveys the world for the first time from my finger tip! The ootheca I brought indoors last fall http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/769... has finally produced about 100 nymphs. My original plan was to raise a few so I could document their progress. Unfortunately on Saturday I wasn't able to find a single aphid for them to eat so I released them all into the meadow, just keeping this little guy long enough to take a few photos.!
