Description:

robust weaver, brown above, cream below with conspicuous white eye brows and a white rump which is obvious in flight. small colonies build untidy individual nests among the outer branches of a tree or bush, frequently on the western facing side. The photos all appear to be of females evidenced by the pale horn-coloured bills, the bill of the male is black

Habitat:

thornveld and dry river courses, common throughout Botswana. These particular birds were nesting on a ranch by the Limpopo river and feeding from the floor of the goat pens

Notes:

these are noisy birds with a loud, melodic song
