Tozeuma lanceolatum
This carid shrimp is also known as Ocellated Tozeuma Shrimp, Broken-back Shrimp and Humpbacked Shrimp. They feed on parasites, algae and plankton, and grow to a length of about 5cm.
Found on rope sponges, algae and sometimes seagrass blades. Widespread across the Indo-Pacific region.
There were 3 or 4 of these shrimp trying to camouflage themselves in a bush-like coral (gorgonian?), and the one featured here was the biggest. They were at around 20m depth at the dive site in Tagpopongan, Samal Island, Philippines.
