Description:

Small, open , deciduous tree, with distinct green bark on slender, spiny branches. Leaves are slender, bright green, and compound. Yellow flowers, one petal specked with red.

Habitat:

Hot, dry climates.

Notes:

In tropical America, retama has been reported to be used medicinally.
