Luna Moth

Actias luna

Notes:

This was the first time I has seen a Luna Moth. I gently picked it up and snapped the photo of it on my finger with a macro lens. It is still one of the coolest Luna Moth pictures I have been able to find on the Internet. Hope you enjoy it!

Done @ Karen.

@ Nopayahnah: This is my photo I took with my camera at my house :) When I mentioned finding a cooler picture of this on the Internet, I meant my picture here is among the best I have been able to find ;)

Is this your photo? If it is someone else's photo you found on the Internet, you need their permission to post it here.

Very cool!
Charles, where you know the common name of the species as in this case, please could you look up & add the scientific name - it is very easy to do on a Google search. That takes the spotting out of the "unknown" list. The scientific name is Actias luna.
