Tonna galea
Also referred to as Tonna olearium, their large shells have a distinct spiral. They are able to burrow into the sand in order to escape predators. They feed on sea cucumbers by sucking with their large proboscis. They grow to a length of about 23cm.
Found nocturnally in silty shallow water on sandy bottoms, at depths of 5 to 30m. Widespread in the Indo-West Pacific region.
Spotted this at a depth of about 12m during a night dive at Dayang Beach, Talikud Island, Samal.
