Its a very soft bodied fish with no scales.Its outside and inner mouth are also abnormally soft.It cna be caught with worms easily.I have caught smaller specimens that lack the color of this one.The smaller specimens also lack the small hard protrusions on the for head.The picture shows the protrusions on the head of the fish.They are symmetrical above the eyes and become more random the lower they are on the head.
Slow to moderately fast moving water,Kalamazoo, river.And Portage creek both located in Kalamazoo county Michigan.
i have asked one local national department of resources officer if he could ID this fish and he said he's never seen anything like it.Also I've been catching these for about 5yrs.
