Description:

Photo take at -40 ft on a Caribbean reef. The plants are erect and grow to a height of about 20 to 24 cm. They have a well-developed, thick, heavily calcified stalk above which the branches are more or less in one plane. The segments are flat and usually 3-lobed. They are dull green in the upper portions and whitish near the base.

Habitat:

Most commonly in shallow sandy areas, including seagrass beds. Occasionally in sandy, rocky areas on and between reefs. Found from Florida all the Caribbean Sea , Central America to Brazil.
