Great Tit

Parus major

Description:

Sparrow sized tit, some 15 cm in length, with strikingly yellow chest and belly and a black stripe in the middle . Black head with white cheeks, olive-green back with blue to greyish-olive mantle, with a horizontal white stripe on wing covers.

Habitat:

Very common in woodland montane areas; resident in rural and urban areas of Jura Mountain Range slopes. Here seen from my window - in semi-urban setting: very calm small town, close to a big wooded zone, a meadow and to agricultural fields. All together, the town is just in between slopes of Jura and coasts of lake Leman (Geneva).

Notes:

This spotting is a part of my regular "from my window series"...
