Description:

Very long, bright yellow legs found near two different sloughs in Otter Tail County, Minnesota in April 2012. Not sure if these are two different species of Yellowlegs (Greater and Lesser), adult verses juvenile Yellowlegs...or breeding verses nonbreeding color variations...

Habitat:

Freshwater: sloughs, shallow lakes and ponds along the shoreline feeding on insects, tadpoles or the like

One is in alternate plumage and the other is in transition plumage.
