Ficus racemosa
Ficus racemosa is a species of plant in the Moraceae family. Popularly known as the cluster fig or goolar fig, this is native to Australasia, Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. It is unusual in that its figs grow on or close to the tree trunk. This tree is an important food source for a variety of birds and animals. Feral pigs are particularly fond of the fruit of this species and will pull branches down to obtain the fruits.
Growing in a large semi-urban yard & garden in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.
