Rainforest. We saw this dragonfly in a island park in Tena, Ecuador.

Hi pirucreaciones! "Fiery dragonfly" is a just common name, and from what I know refers to an Australian species, Orthetrum villosovittatum, not found in South America. My best suggestion for you is to edit the spotting, remove the common name and tick the Help with ID box again, so that people knowledgeable about insects in this area can see your spotting on the Unidentified list again. In general we recommend not to accept ID suggestions unless they are accompanied by a reference which you can check.

Crocothemis erythraea is not found in South America.
