Kiʻi/ Red ti leaf

Cordyline fruticosa

Description:

The red ti leaf can stand up to 10 feet tall and has red leaves that are about 1-2 feet. In the center of the lad is a bone. The stem of the plant is a light brownish color. The red ti leaf can be used to wrap leftover food. In old hawaii, the leaves we're believed to bring good luck and dispel bad spirits. Now the leaves are used to decorate driveways and outdoor walkways.

This was found behind the Kamehameha athletic facilities, Koia.
