Ichneumonid Wasp

Description:

A small female wasp, all black with dark wings and orange legs. About 8 mm in length. The ovipositor is short and thick. It was found at night, waiting out the rain. Family Ichneumonidae.

Habitat:

Semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
