Spotted Bowerbird

Chlamydera maculata

Description:

The bower of this species often includes bones around the outside and numerous shiny objects on the inside. Apparently the Golden Bowerbird bower was the first place to look for lost goods of aboriginals and early explorers. Note the pink crest in pic 2.

I have never seen one of these bird. Took me a lifetime to see a Satin Bowerbird, and now there's a spotted one too?! Love that it creatively acquires shiny objects.
