Eucalyptus leaf beetle

Paropsisterna bimaculata

Description:

oval beetle, low profile, head tucked under transverse pronotum, elytra widest half-way, body colour green-yellow, pronotum with two longitudinal black blotches. Antennae filamentous and quite rigid.

Habitat:

This one flew onto the front car light shield , in a highly dense Eucalypt regrowth area , myrtle , forest area.

Notes:

The Tasmanian Eucalyptus leaf beetle, Chrysophtharta bimaculata Native to Australia; endemic to Tasmania.
