Pink Hibiscus

Hibiscus

Description:

This hibiscus plant is about 6-7 feet tall and normally grows to be about 4-5 feet. The hibiscus plant ranges in flower color from white, yellow, pink, orange, red and many more. The hibiscus is one of the most diverse flower species and can be found all across the globe. The flowers themselves can range in shape though this one is a vibrant pink with very big petals. The petals are visibly veined and the flower has a very prominent pistil and stigma also, making it easy for pollinators to locate. The leaves of a hibiscus are normally small oval shaped about three to four inches in length and two in diameter. They are normally light green and have a rough texture. The hibiscus has a bush like structure.

Habitat:

The hibiscus is a commonly found plant and grows almost anywhere. It is introduced and came from somewhere other than Hawaiʻi. This hibiscus was spotted in Ewa Beach. These can be found spread out throughout the Hawaiian islands and grow best in areas not to wet, a little more on the arid side.

Notes:

The hibiscus plant is the state flower and is planted throughout the islands. The flower is used in your token hula performance and is also planted very often around commercial areas, and shopping malls.
