Turkey Tail

Trametes versicolor

Description:

One of several kinds of fungi with bird-related monikers! Turkey Tail gets its name from the fact that it sort of resembles a turkey's tail. The caps were bracket-shaped, thin, velvety, and had concentric zones of purple, white, and orange. The pores were dingy white colored.

Habitat:

Growing on a fallen tree in a deciduous forest.
