Caramel crust

Description:

A thick and very large crust fungus covering about 1 metre. Newer growth was an attractive caramel colour with older growth darker, At it's margins was a honeycomb coloured line.

Habitat:

On the trunk of a large Nothofagus in a very dark and wet part of a rainforest reserve.
