Huntsman Spider

Heteropoda sp.

Description:

Sparassidae; Heteropoda (poss. H. venatoria). I have numerous pictures of H. venatoria which is a very common species here. So I should be able to identify this spider relatively easily, but the markings, which on venatoria are usually quite distinct and unmistakable, are rather feeble on this spider. However, feeble as they may be, these markings seem to indicate a venatoria and it almost goes without saying, it is a female.

Habitat:

This spider was spotted on the outside surface of our back terrace wall.
